Nigeria has inaugurated Africa’s largest lithium processing plant in Nasarawa State, marking a significant step in the country’s efforts to deepen economic diversification and strengthen its position in the global clean energy value chain. Vice President Kashim Shettima described the solid minerals sector as a key driver of economic diversification and poverty reduction, noting that the lithium processing facility, with a daily capacity of 6,000 tons, has already created employment opportunities for more than 1,000 local residents.
