Military Helicopter Gunship Kills Several ISWAP Terrorists in Night Strike Along Bama–Maiduguri Route The Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI has neutralised several ISWAP terrorists during a precision night operation along the Bama–Maiduguri Main Supply Route (MSR) in Borno State. Intelligence sources told TheRadarNewsNG that the operation was conducted at about 11:00 p.m. on July 22 after a military helicopter gunship detected muzzle flashes from a location previously identified through intelligence as an ISWAP training ground. The crew fired probing rounds to confirm the target, prompting the terrorists to return fire before the aircraft responded with sustained and accurate strikes. Military sources said several terrorists were killed, while others fled into nearby bushes. The operation forms part of ongoing intelligence-led air campaigns aimed at disrupting terrorist camps, restricting insurgent movement and securing critical supply routes across the North-East. Security sources described the successful night strike as further evidence of the military’s growing capability to detect and engage terrorist elements operating under the cover of darkness through the integration of intelligence, surveillance and precision air power.
