Nigeria and Angola Sign Visa Waiver Agreement to Boost Diplomatic Mobility On the margins of the 39th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union in Addis Ababa, I had the honour of signing, alongside my brother, Angola’s Minister of External Relations, Ambassador Téte António, the Agreement on Visa Exemption for holders of Diplomatic and Official/Service Passports between our two countries. This important step removes a longstanding barrier to official engagement and opens the door to faster, more efficient diplomatic exchanges between Nigeria and Angola. It reflects our shared determination to translate historic goodwill into practical cooperation that delivers real value for our institutions and our continent. Nigeria and Angola are bound by a deep and tested history of solidarity. From the era of Africa’s liberation struggles to today’s evolving continental priorities, our partnership has remained steady and purposeful. This Agreement builds on that legacy and positions both countries for more agile collaboration in the years ahead. As we continue to advance Nigeria’s foreign policy priorities; including through the Regional Partnership for Democracy (

) and the West African Economic Summit ( @waesummit_ ), we remain committed to strengthening bridges across Africa and driving outcomes that support integration, mobility, and collective progress.
