On March 11, 2026, a Thailand-flagged bulk carrier named Mayuree Naree (operated by Precious Shipping, Bangkok-headquartered) was struck by an unknown projectile while transiting east through the Strait of Hormuz, approximately 25 nautical miles north-northeast of Khasab, Oman (in the traffic separation scheme near the entrance/exit of the strait).

BREAKING: EFCC files a 16-count money laundering charge against former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, his son, Abdulaziz Malami, and an employee of Rahamaniyya Properties Limited, Hajia Bashir Asabe.
In the charge, the first in three series, Malami was alleged to have laundered about N9 billion to buy choice houses in Abuja, Kebbi, Kano, and others.
