President Tinubu Has Already Been Reelected Going By The Unity and Synchronicity Displayed At The APC Convention! Did you see how sleek and organised the APC convention has been? If you saw that and still believe in this fantasy that ANYBODY in the political nursery school called the African Democratic Congress can unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, you need to listen to Soul II Soul's runaway hit, 'Back to Life', and come back to reality. The All Progressives Congress convention was precise, and most went like clockwork. How so many people can be gathered in such a hitch-free manner has to be studied! No divisions, factions, or frictions. It was one big happy family. Unlike any other major political party in Nigeria. You must give it to them. This is a movement that knows how to manage its success. The President and Vice President are united. We remember a bygone era under a different dispensation when that was not the case. The First and Second Ladies were there, and it was clear. The APC has thirty-one governors, and they all turned up for the convention together, smiling and high-fiving. Meanwhile, the ADC has none, yet is so fraught with division and infighting over who gets the Presidential ticket, with Peter Obi and his motley cries of shrinking Obidients, who do not have the decency not to insult other contenders for the ADC's Presidential ticket, have already caused so much tension and division in that party, if you can call it that, that the ADC spokesman was forced to release an official rebuke, which the spokesman for the Obidient movement responded to as usual, with subtle insults. The ADC is divided. We have just heard from the Turaki-led PDP that they have rejected all peace moves and are heading to the Supreme Court. But then look at the unity in diversity displayed in Abuja yesterday and today. For forty-eight hours, the APC has been gathered in their tens of thousands at Eagles Square, Abuja, and there have been no reports of violence or opulence, only congruence. And you think people who cannot even organise themselves, and rather antagonise each other, will dislodge such an enterprise? Who are you kidding? Even the only Governor elected on the Labour Party platform before Obi predictably jumped ship, has publicly stated that he will not oppose the President's reelection. In other words, he has told Obi that he would not support his candidacy, whether or not he gets the ADC ticket, which is a pipe dream for Obi anyway. People who cannot manage their own failure cannot take on a team that is managing their own success! And it is not that these political parties, the PDP and the ADC, are in turmoil. They are also blaming the APC for their own failures. Let us even, for the sake of argument, say that their desperation to hide their incompetence by blaming the APC is valid; is that not an indictment? If you cannot protect yourselves from an outside force, then how can you win the confidence of the larger public? Is it the APC that has made the Obidient movement daily hurl invectives at Waziri Atiku Abubakar and Rotimi Amaechi, and their support base? Is it the APC that sponsored Dele Momodu to cause friction in the ADC by calling on that opportunistic gathering to zone the Presidential ticket of the party to the North, thereby leaving Southern contenders high and dry? Is the APC the cause of the infighting in various state chapters of the ADC that culminated in the shooting incident in Benin City last month? The ADC is not a party, it is a calamity without unity. And the PDP is a little better, even if it's a little more bitter. And that saddens me, because the PDP should offer a viable opposition. Instead, they are showing erosion. What a pity! And now, the whole nation has just seen an almost insane level of discipline and cohesion on display at the centre of Abuja by the APC, and you think Nigeria will leave that procession for the profusion of confusion in the ADC and PDP?
