- Immunisation
• More than 102 million children aged 9 months to 14 years vaccinated against Measles-Rubella.
• 17,146,987 adolescent girls protected through HPV vaccination.
• More than 174 million Polio vaccinations delivered.
• 18.3 million Diphtheria vaccinations administered.
• 786,882 children received the first dose of the Malaria vaccine across Kebbi, Bayelsa, Ondo and Bauchi States.
• More than 39,000 people vaccinated against Mpox across 12 states, making Nigeria the first African country to deploy the vaccine.
• More than 5.1 million people protected during Cholera outbreaks.
• 4.61 million people vaccinated against Cerebro-Spinal Meningitis.
• Routine vaccines continue to be provided free of charge at government health facilities nationwide.
• Between 2023 and 2025, six rounds of Maternal, Newborn and Child Health Week delivered Vitamin A supplementation, deworming tablets and MMS/IFAS supplements to tens of millions of children and pregnant women nationwide.
- Hospital infrastructure & cancer care
• 3 new world-class cancer centres under development.
• Cancer services expanded across 13 states.
• 503 health infrastructure projects implemented nationwide.
• 20 Federal Tertiary Hospitals upgraded or expanded.
• National Institute for Cancer Research and Treatment established.
• 8 Preventive Oncology Clinics established.
• National Cancer Access Partnership expanded to 24 centres, reaching approximately 8,500 patients from all 36 states and the FCT.
• National Cancer Health Fund has provided free diagnostics and treatment to more than 1,500 vulnerable Nigerians.
• Modern radiotherapy, mammography, telemedicine and diagnostic equipment deployed to strengthen specialist care.

Reforms are strengthening service delivery while positioning healthcare as a driver of economic growth.
- Digital transformation & service delivery
• First version of the Electronic Community Health Information System released and undergoing User Acceptance Testing.
• Development of 6 Enterprise Resource Planning modules underway.
• Electronic Data Requisition Portal developed.
• Electronic Medical Record Readiness Assessment completed ahead of rollout across 12 states.
• Medical outreaches reached more than 368,000 citizens across 239 underserved and hard-to-reach communities.
- Service utilisation
Annual averages show sustained increases between 2023 and 2025:
• General attendance: 34.5 million → 43 million
• First Antenatal Visits: 1.6 million → 1.8 million
• Fourth Antenatal Visits: 598,221 → 827,189
• Skilled Birth Attendance: 483,072 → 688,375
• Penta-3 Immunisation: 1,983,372 → 2,144,633
• Nigeria’s Tuberculosis detection rate is now among the highest globally.
• Procurement of ₦62 billion worth of anti-Tuberculosis medicines and commodities is underway through domestic financing.
• Nigeria’s HIV PMTCT programme and HIV Triple Targets are now achieving more than 80% performance.
- Building Nigeria’s Healthcare Economy
• Presidential Executive Order signed in July 2024 to promote medical industrialisation.
• 47 companies already benefiting.
• ₦26 billion in concessions granted.
• 4 of the Top 10 performing companies on the Nigerian Exchange are Nigerian pharmaceutical companies.
• Medipool established as the Federal Government’s Group Purchasing Organisation.
• Empower Academy launched with 2,700 students already enrolled.
• Clinical Trial Consortium established.
• Major pharmaceutical manufacturing projects commissioned across Lagos, Ogun, Kaduna, Rivers, Abuja and Kano, with new investments commencing in Ogun and Anambra.
• €1 billion mobilised through the European Investment Bank.
• US$1 billion committed by Afreximbank.
• Financing mobilised to support more than 90 projects within a US$5 billion healthcare investment pipeline.
- National Health Fellowship
• First cohort of 774 Fellows competitively selected from more than 360,000 applicants, one from each Local Government Area.
• Second cohort of 774 Fellows now deployed nationwide.
• Every 4 Fellows matched with one dedicated mentor.
• More than 1,500 community projects completed within 16 months.
These achievements represent the most comprehensive transformation of Nigeria’s health sector in a generation by expanding access, improving outcomes, strengthening institutions and laying the foundation for a healthier, more resilient and more prosperous nation.
