NORTHERN SENATORS FORUM CONDEMNS BENUE/KADUNA KILLINGS; COMMISERATES WITH VICTIMS The Northern Senators Forum has condemned the killing of dozens of people within the last three days in fresh attacks in Benue and Kaduna States. In Kaduna, about 30 people, including women and children, were killed on Sunday in Naridon Village, Kauru Local Government, while the Benue attack on Tuesday in Efeyi, Otukpo local government area left 13 dead, with several others injured. In a statement, Chairman of the Northern Senators Forum Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’Adua, commiserated with victims and welcomed President Bola Tinubu’s approval to expand the Nigerian Army from 8 to 12 divisions as well as the recruitment of 28,000 more personnel to improve response time and border security. The Forum urged government to provide adequate equipment and welfare for the troops and called on communities to share intelligence for enhanced swift action to apprehend perpetrators.
